Experts are continuing to put pressure on the WHO (World Health Organization) to relax regulations on e-cigarettes. They ask that governing bodies reflect the hypothesis that they are a positive aid to stop smoking and therefore a less harmful alternative.

Open Letter to the Director of WHO
So far WHO has advised strict regulations on e-cigarettes, similar to those of normal combustible cigarettes. They have yet to provide any acknowledgment of e-cigarettes as a less harmful alternative to smoking.
